My Design-Basic Banners Christmas | Stitched Christmas Star In my world, green, gold, red and glitz represent the Christmassy feeling for me. My card captures some of this. I enjoyed ink blending the new Stitched Christmas Star cover plate background in rich Pinkfresh Studio dye inks, Olive and Evergreen. I then gave it a good splatter with white. While that was drying, I heat embossed the Basic Banners Christmas in gold embossing powder. When you have this stamp set it is good to note that it is one big stamp with all those sentiments on. Make sure you have a large piece of white cardstock with plenty of room around it after stamping. You need that extra space for the die to have enough room to properly cut around of the stamp. We have a lovely stand alone die set called Curvy Leaves. I die cut some leaves in gold glitter cardstock then added them to accent the banners. I think details are everything when finishing up a design and you will find that with most of the cards I make. Here, I added some of the Pinkfresh Studio Iridescent Clear Drops on the banners to add my finished touch. I have made number of cards with this release which I will share with you. Hopefully my designs will give you some inspiration and feel free to copy my designs if it helps you. You will be able to find me over on Instagram @cherylespiecreates so why not pop over and follow me when you get a chance! My Design | Hibiscus Die | Splatters Hot Foil Plate Oh my, I really enjoyed designing this card! The Splatters Hot Foil Plate is a fab background which I used for different themed cards from this months release. I will share all my designs throughout the month of August over on my Instagram account @cherylespiecreates so make sure you follow and set up your notifications for regular inspiration from me. For this design I used Champagne hot foil as I knew it would go well with the green leaves. Then, I die cut all the pieces of the Hibiscus Die several times in quality white cardstock as I wasn't sure how many I would use. I ink blended the leaves in different shades of greens. And for the flowers, I ink blended pale orange and pinks. It took some time to arrange the florals, as sometimes that can be the hardest part. When I was happy with my arrangement, I then popped it all up on foam dots as I love dimension and texture with my designs. To finish, I added one of the many sentiment strips that Waffle Flower sell which are a fantastic add on! I hope I have inspired you and I hope you will join me again over on my Instagram @cherylespiecreates I'm sending big good luck vibes to you all as I really appreciate the time you take to comment and, love that you get a chance to win prizes! Good luck!

My Design-Fancy Floral Ephemera | Secret Garden Die | Shaker Tag Book Die I love ready made die cuts. Pinkfresh Studio do some amazing ready made sentiment sets and floral sets. This month they released this pretty Fancy Floral Ephemera and I couldn't resist creating with them. With ready made die cuts I enjoy just piecing them together. It reminds me of those paper dress up dolls that I got as a child. Not sure if you had them over here in North America? So, lets talk cover plate dies...look at this beauty...the Secret Garden Coverplate Die. Gosh, it's glorious! I couldn't resist die cutting this in Champagne gold cardstock as I thought it would make a lovely dimensional backdrop for the Fancy Floral Ephemera. Then using the tag from the newly released Shaker Tag Book Die, I cut up the Secret Garden Die into three pieces, sharing and gluing the cut between two tags and a card. To finish, I added that wonderfully fonted sentiment Grateful for you from the Thanks for Being There stamp set also released this month. Finally, the Champagne Glitter Drops helped bring this project together. Hopefully you are inspired and want to follow on with the Pinkfresh Studio blog hop for further inspiration and to win prizes. See the links below and go show some love and appreciation.... Until next time friends...

  • Gina K Designs | Delightful Dogwood

Hi crafty friends As a monthly guest designer for Gina K designs (which I am thrilled about!) I get sent a stamp and sometimes co-ordinating dies to play with ahead of the release. Unfortunately, I didn't receive Julys in time for the release but as soon as I did I designed these two beauties with the Delightful Dogwood Stamp Set. I did a bit of research for this one as I didn't know what colour Dogwood would be. If I did my research correctly, I believe that the pink is really the leaves that turn this colour? Im still trying to get my head around that! Haha. The pictures I found helped with inspiration for my colour choices. And yes, I researched the Cardinal too. In fact, I am impressed I remembered it is a Cardinal from my childhood days. I was and still are interested in nature and when I was a child I would make scrapbooks of birds, flowers and animals to escape the world around me. So, this colour choice depicts the female Cardinal. Are you impressed? The reason I chose the female colour choice was because it would coordinate with the pink Dogwood and the blue background better. The male is primarily red and that would not have worked so well, I don't think. For the colours I used Copic marker listed below: Dogwood: RV 10, RV 13, G21 & G94 Cardinal: !01, W02, W03, E30, E31 & R37 I hope you check out Gina K's July release, as usual there are a great mixture of stamp, dies and stencils to choose from. Until next time.....

  • Alex Syberia Designs | Falala Friends | A Farewell

Hi crafty friends I am participating in the Alex Syberia Designs New Release Hop and Giveaway over on Instagram today. We are celebrating the brand new "Christmas in July" collection from Alex Syberia Designs. This release is your perfect incentive to get started early on those holiday cards. With new hot foil plates, stamps, layering stencils, and dies there's sure to be something for everyone! So why not get yourself over @cherylespiecreates and hop along to see all the inspiration, and win prizes!! I am featuring Falala Friends. For my first card I used the masking technique whereby I stamp and fussy cut my images with masking paper to creates a scene. My second design was a bit straight forward whereby, I used the snow stencil to creates texture then stamped, coloured and cut my images. I wanted to share with you that this will be my last post for Alex Syberia Designs as one of their Creative Team members. Due to my clinical work commitments and already being on the Pinkfresh Studio team I was feeling too stretched. I do not like it when I feel this way as I don't want to let anyone down. Therefore, I decided to resign with Alex Syberia Designs at this time. Of course, I will be guest designing for them and other companies as I can fit this around my other commitments. Alex Syberia Designs may be a newer company but they are crushing it since their launch and I am thrilled I was an original team member that helped them in their journey. I wish them every success because they work hard, they have wonderful designs and every one of their team members are a delight. Big hugs ASD, I will miss you! Until next time friends....

Hi crafty friends! I am excited to be joining Alex Syberia Designs in a big blog hop celebrating the brand new release Christmas in July! This really is a thing in the card making world because it gives us a chance to get ahead with festive cards. It can get so busy during the season so having a stash of cards all ready to go is a win! To celebrate the release Alex Syberia Designs is doing a wonderful giveaway, so check out the details below. Giveaway info: Alex Syberia Designs is giving away two £15 gift cards to the Alex Syberia Designs store and one full release bundle, valued at £366 ($400) in total. Alex Syberia Designs will pick the three winners from the comments left on each designer’s blog post in this hop before midnight BST on July 23rd 2023. The winners will be announced on the ASD Release Blog Hop post on July 24th 2023. Jingle Bell Joy/Elegant Stripes/Pretty Bows/Christmas Sentiments I quite enjoy die cutting then ink blending the die cuts to my own colour choices, which is what I did here with the Jingle Bell Joy Die Set. The only part I didn't ink blend was the top of the bells. I die cut those from silver foil cardstock. I thought these elements would make super cute gift tags. Therefore, I used the new Elegant Stripes Hot Foil Plate with silver, and then die cut the tags using the Signature Tags Die Set after hot foiling. I placed all the elements with glue but with the odd foam dot, then placed two Pretty Bows on each in bright red foil. To finish, I stamped and die cut two sentiments from the Christmas Sentiments set. Add some ribbon, and these lovelies are ready to go! Snowflakes/Elegant Stripes/Be Merry Hot Foil This Snowflake Die is fabulous! It has lovely detail and I immediately knew I wanted it in gold glitter cardstock. I really layered this up as it was going to be the focal point of the whole design. The Elegant Stripe Hot Foil Plate in gold gives a great backdrop without taking anything away from the snowflake. I added some silver bling, yes, silver! Do you know, gold and sliver go well together, especially on Christmas cards. Therefore, I added the silver bling to the tips of the snowflake to add that extra something, something. To finish, I added the Joy from the Be Merry Hot Foil Sentiment Set. Hopefully I have given you some Christmas in July inspiration friends? Now, go enjoy the hop and make sure you leave comments and love along the way for your chance to win! • Alex Syberia Designs | Chrysanthemum Love

Hi ASD friends I am over on the Alex Syberia Designs blog today sharing a card with a matching gift tag that I designed using some new products released this month by Alex Syberia Designs. Did you see the beautiful Chrysanthemum Stamp Set? Whoa! It's a beauty! I know some crafters get a bit intimidated by layering stamps because of lining up the stamps. I have stamped many layering stamps and some very complicated ones and yes, it is intimidating. In my opinion, I don't want something that brings me joy become too challenging. Well, friends, be assured this layering stamp is one of the easiest layering stamps I have used, and it gives dramatic results. By using my MISTI, I lined up my first stamp and then stamped three base layers. As the stamps lines up easily, I then just followed the layers. I used a gradient of light to dark blues/teals for the Chrysanthemum flowers. I die cut the Meadow Magic Cover Die then cut it down to size. I positioned my Chrysanthemums leaving the right bottom corner for my With Love Sentiment. Of course I had a Chrysanthemum left purposefully for a gift tag. I die cut the brand new and definitely new staple in my stash, Signature Tags Die Set. This set has fun elements to give you lots of options. I die cut another panel using the Meadow Magic Cover Die. I then die cut two tags, one from the Meadow Magic and one plain. Using one of the elements from the Tag Set, I die cut the front and added champagne gold cardstock at the back before adding the extra plain tag die cut. This is nice as it tidies up the back of the tag and gives a clean surface to write a greeting to and from. The champagne cardstock brings both the card and the tag together, and then finished with gold ribbon. Well friends, I hope you feel inspired?! Until next time....

  • Alex Syberia Designs | Sending Love

Hi crafty friends! I am up on the Alex Syberia Designs blog today featuring a card I designed using the beautiful stamp set called Happy Blooms. I love this set! I think I love it because of the unique lines through the images. This type of stamp set is pretty cool to use just in black and white. Though, I decided to colour mine. There's quite a few products used on this card. In thee background you will see the Fancy Cover Die. I then added a die cut panel and stamped the groups of dots from the Happy Blooms stamp set in light grey, just to give the white panel some interest. After stamping the floral images, I coloured them with my Copics. The easiest colouring ever because the Happy Bloomsstamp set has all the interest done for you. The colours I used were BG 13, BG18, Y26 & Y28. I stamped the floral images on the card panel but, I then die cut the the centre florals and raised just those. This really gave a cool added dimension. Let's talk sentiments! I used rainbow foil with the Sending Love from the For Her Sentiments Hot Foil Plate. It was this that enabled me to choose what colours I wanted the florals to be. Did you notice how similar they are? Underneath I then added that lovely sentiment strip from the Expressing Gratitude stamp set. To finish, I added a bit of bling. Not too much but decided on picking up the teal just to accent the design. I have to say, that I think the teal and gold effect of the Copics really made the Happy Blooms set pop on that white backdrop. Whatever you are doing today friends I hope it brings you some joy. Until next time....

  • Heffy Doodle and Alex Syberia Designs Collaboration Blog Hop

Hi crafty friends, welcome to the Heffy Doodle and Alex Syberia Designs Collaboration Blog Hop! Its time for a fun blog hop collaboration between Heffy Doodle and Alex Syberia Designs. There's some amazing inspiration from both design teams along the hop so make sure you follow along for inspiration as well as a chance to win.. My Design For my design I really thought the Nested Scalloped Frames Die Set by Alex Syberia Designs had multiple uses apart from just framing including, clouds or waves! As I had the Sealy Friends from Heffy Doodle, waves was the obvious choice. After ink blending blue hues over my die cut wave pieces, I splattered them with white. I coloured the adorable seals with my Copic markers C2, C4 & C7. I fussy cut the seals and then tucked them behind the waves. I framed the whole design and then added the sentiments. The HUGS is the Foxtrot Alphabet by Alex Syberia Designs which I die cut in gold cardstock to help it pop from the background. BLOG HOP DETAILS: To be entered to win the giveaway, all you need to do is comment at each stop along the Blog Hop! Alex Syberia Designs and Heffy Doodle will be giving away £20 to their stores!
