  • Sunshine & Smiles

Hi Pinkfresh friends! I am back on the card blog today sharing a card I created using the beautiful and timeless Heart of Gold Stamp set. This set was illustrated by the wonderful and talented Isha Gupta who is also a Pinkfresh Studio design team member! There is something elegant about this stamp set. I think it's because it's not too busy and the branch is so delicate but the lemons just pop. That little birdie is delightful! I stamped and heat embossed the image and the sentiment in silver. I knew this would look nice with Lemon Whip, Ocean Breeze and Sage that I had already decided to use for my ink colours. Using the Heart of Gold Co-ordinating Stencils, I ink blended very lightly and then a bit heavier in the areas I thought would be shadowed. For the lemons, I did add a bit of Sweet Mustard to the Lemon Whip to achieve this. For my background, I wanted some texture but I didn't want it to take over the front  image. Therefore, I dry embossed the Pretty Blossoms Hot Foil Plate. If you haven't tried this before you should. It's a great technique and it's always good to stretch your supplies. I'm not sure if Press Plates dry emboss well, but I will give it a try soon. After dry embossing, I ink blended the Ocean Breeze over the panel, then added some silver splatters. While that dried, I die cut then layered up the image and the sentiment with grey cardstock from my stash. This added a bit of dimension but was a bit more subtle than using black cardstock. To finish, I used a combination of Matte Silver Metallic Pearls and Turquoise Clear Drops around and on the images. So there you have it, a pretty and delicate Sunshine & Smiles card that will hopefully cheer up somebody's day! I filmed my process so keep an eye out for the reel over on Instagram @pinkfreshstudio and @cherylespiecreates Until next time, take care!

  • Oh Happy Day Shaker Card

Hi crafty friends, For today's post I thought I would design a shaker card. I haven't created one for a while. I was looking at the brand new Border Stencils from the Happiness Release and really wanted to use them for a multi coloured background. As I was using a product from the new release, I thought I would also choose some florals from it. Therefore, I chose the Be Fearless Press Plate so I could hot foil it. To begin, I chose three colours to ink blend with the Border Stencils. I knew I would also want these three colours for my florals. The colours I went with are some good OG's, Ballet Slipper, Peach Fuzz and Mint. With the stencils I ink blended the Ballet Slipper first, then flipped the stencil over so the lines were in the opposite direction, the ink blended in Mint. I repeated this process for the Peach Fuzz and finished with another Ballet Slipper. Using the Terrarium Die that was released last May, and the recently released Notched Corner Frames, I die cut a front panel. This gave me a window in which I added some clear acetate. To attach it I used double sided sticky tape as it's so strong and I seem to get on better with that than glue. After layering up some for tape, and dusting with embossing powder, I added some Iridescent Clear Drops from my stash. When I was satisfied with the amount added, I adhered my striped die cut panel to the back. My shaker was born!! After attaching the shaker onto an A2 card base, it was time to add florals and the base of the terrarium (which I die cut from silver cardstock). The Be Fearless Stamp Suite has coordinating stencils and dies. So, using the same coloured inks I ink blended the flowers with the stencils. After die cutting them, I then I arrange them to the left and popped them up with foam dots. When choosing a sentiment I really wanted it to be bold. I pulled out the Foiled Sentiments and added the 'Oh Happy Day', how cute is that?! Added some dots and extra bling and voila!! Either a wedding shaker, an engagement shaker, or a birthday shaker-you choose! Keep and eye out friends for the reel that demonstrates how this card came together, over on Instagram @pinkfreshstudio and @cherylespiecreates Until next time....

  • Birthday Wishes

Hi friends Let's talk Pinkfresh Studio Washi Tapes! I first started using Pinkfresh Studio Washi Tapes a few years ago and I was blown away by them. They are superb quality, amazing value for money and so versatile. Pinkfresh Studio has always appealed to me because of the beautiful designs, how pretty their products make my cards. I was always hesitant with washi tapes because I just could not see how I would use them for the style of card I tend to gravitate towards. For my card today, I decided on using the Celebrate Washi Tape. This truly is a versatile washi suitable for weddings, engagements, birthdays and graduations. I decided on using the pink hues for my card but there are also yellow and blue balloons should you wish to use those instead. For the background I pulled out the Stippled Plaid Press Plate that was released in February this year. I heat embossed it in gold because the washi tape has gold in it. Then, I pulled out the Cherry Blossom Dye Ink and added just a bit of ink blending around the edges. I thought this would tie in the pink hues from the balloons and the cake images. Just to break up the background and 'ground' the images, I added a white Blanket Stitched die cut oval in the centre of the base. Using a combination of glue and foam dots, I then added the die cut images to the right of the oval cardstock. In the coordinating Celebrate Stamp Set there are a couple of perfect sentiments. Therefore, I stamped one of them-Birthday Wishes in black ink and die cut it a couple of times in white cardstock. Then, one more time in gold cardstock. This adds a nice shadow touch to a finished sentiment. I placed the sentiment on an angle tucked in with the balloons. Then, to finish I die cut the bow in gold from the ever useful Wrap Around Elements that was released in April 2023. Added some Ice Clear Drops and voila! As my usual, keep and eye out for the reel over on Instagram at @pinkfreshstudio and @cherylespiecreates Until next time friends....

  • Your Kindness Means So Much

Hi Pinkfresh Studio friends! Today I am over on the Pinkfresh Studio blog sharing a floaty, pretty in pink floral card that I designed using the new Never Give Up Press Plate. Press plates are starting to replace hot foil plates as they can have a dual purpose and they foil beautifully. For my design I used the Never Give Up Press Plate twice. First, I used white foil on vellum and then foiled the plate again with champagne foil on white cardstock. With the coordinating stencils, I ink blended very lightly with Ballet Slipper and Sparkling Rose for the flowers. And for the leaves, I used Sage and Lush Forest. After die cutting them out, I set them aside so I could work on the background. I had some woodgrain cardstock panels in my stash. Therefore, I decided to use one for my card. The white was too stark, so I grabbed the Ballet Slipper dye ink and dragged the ink pad down over the woodgrain. This was very satisfying!! Then, using the Nested Rectangles Hot Foil I cut out a frame with the coordinating dies. This gave me an anchor for my florals and broke up the woodgrain back panel. I popped all of this up on foam squares to give it some lift. To finish, I decided to use one of the sentiments from the Favorite Things Press Plate set that was released last December. I had a champagne foiled sentiment all ready to go. I added black cardstock layers onto the back of this sentiment  and that lifted it just enough from the florals. Obviously, some highlights were needed plus some bling and the Blush Glitter Drops were a beautiful addition. Well friends, that's all from me today but make sure you keep an eye out for the reel over on Instagram @pinkfreshstudio and @cherylespiecreates Have a great weekend!

  • Get Well Soon

Hi Pinkfresh Studio friends! Did you see that in February this year Pinkfresh Studio released the cutest little stamp set called Get Well Soon? The teapot, cup and saucer are so cute and with that little steam cloud! I just couldn't resist designing a card with it. You could colour the images in with your favourite mediums but I used a combination of colouring the images using the Get Well Soon coordinating stencils, and Copics. For the teapot and cup I used Sunkissed & Lemon Whip for the florals. And for the steam handle and saucer, I used Misty Coast and Rocky Slope. I then coloured in the rest of the white space with Copics R01 & R21. You will see that the Big Hello Die compliments the images. To achieve this I ink blended Sunkissed and Lemon Whip on some white cardstock then die cut the blended area. I really wanted some texture for my background. Therefore, I die cut the oldy but goody Hearts & Stars Coverplate Die. Aaaaand a frame from the newly released Notched Corner Frames Die. After I had attached the images where I wanted them with foam dots, I then stamped that wonderful sentiment also from the Get Well Soon and then, die cut it a couple of times to add dimension. Of course, I wanted some glitz and glamour to make it pretty so I used a combination of two Glitter Drops, Champagne and Leaf. Perfect!! As my usual I made a reel for you so, keep an eye out for it over on Instagram @pinkfreshstudio Hopefully you feel inspired friends...until next time

My Design - Fluttering Butterflies Washi Tape This beautiful Fluttering Butterflies Washi Tape has a few different coloured butterflies on it but for my design, I decided to focus on the bluish hues. To be fair, you could do pinks or lilacs too! Using the Shaker Hearts Die set from the Essentials range, I die cut the larger heart in the centre of an A2 card panel. To achieve the fab notched corners on that panel I used the outer part of the brand new Notched Corner Frame Die also from this release. I then added the Ocean Breeze Glitter Cardstock also by Pinkfresh Studio behind the die cut heart. . Also, for added interest, I added it behind the butterflies too. By arranging butterflies over a leafy branch to the left, I had a great area to add my sentiment, which is from the Fluttering Butterflies Stamp Set. To finish, Sky Blue Clear Drops matched perfectly! Well, I hope I have inspired you today friends, but I also hope I have got you in the mood to hop! • You Glow With Kindness

Hi Pinkfresh Studio friends! I feel like I am sharing a true labour of love with you today. This card design took me a few hours to bring together due to the amount of detail and dimension involved. The Pure Joy stamp set is up there as one of the prettiest stamp sets by Pinkfresh Studio. It's such an elegant design and I really wanted to take my time with it. I began heat embossing two of the main focal images in white. Then, using the Pure Joy coordinating stencils I blended a number of Pinkfresh Studio dye inks: Lemon Whip, Sage, Wisteria, Ballet Slipper, Eucalyptus and Rocky Slope. After die cutting the images, I layered them up as I knew I wanted them to pop up from that Lemon Whip background. Then, after die cutting the Dotted Chevron Coverplate I ink blended some Ballet Slipper and splattered it with gold. I then framed this with the Stitched Scallop Rectangles using foam strips. By offsetting the circle focal image it allowed me room to add another part of the image in the bottom right corner. All of these images were popped up for dimension. For the sentiment which is also from the Pure Joy stamp set, I heat embossed white on grey cardstock. Black cardstock just did not look right, too bold I think. To finish, it was time for bling. The very pretty Blush Glitter Drops helped tie in all the colours especially the background. Some little dashes of white gel pen, and voila! Make sure you keep an eye out for my reel over on Instagram @pinkfreshstudio and @cherylespiecreates Until next time friends...
